PE pipe is introduced

PE is polyethylene plastic, the most basic plastic, plastic bags, plastic wrap, etc., are PE,HDPE is a high degree of crystallinity, non-polar thermoplastic resin.  The appearance of the original HDPE is milky white, with a certain degree of translucency in the thin section.  PE has excellent resistance to most household and industrial chemicals.

PE pipe has medium density polyethylene pipe and high density polyethylene pipe.  It is divided into SDR11 and SDR17.6 series according to the wall thickness.  The former is suitable for transporting gaseous artificial gas, natural gas and liquefied petroleum gas, while the latter is mainly used for transporting natural gas.  Compared with steel pipe, the construction process is simple, has certain flexibility, more important is not used for anti-corrosion treatment, will save a lot of procedures.  Disadvantages of the equipment is not as good as steel pipe, the construction of special attention to the safety of heat heating spacing, and can not be exposed to the air in the sun, and sensitive to chemicals, to prevent the leakage of sewage pipe damage.

China’s municipal pipe market, plastic pipe is developing steadily, PE tube, PP-R tube, UPVC tube have a place, among them THE strong development momentum of PE tube is the most eye-catching.  PE pipe is widely used.  Sewage pipe and gas pipe are its two largest application markets.


A good pipeline should not only have good economy, but also have a series of advantages such as stable and reliable interface, impact resistance, cracking resistance, aging resistance and corrosion resistance.

HDPE piping system advantages:

1. Reliable connection: polyethylene pipe system is connected by electric heating, and the strength of the joint is higher than the strength of the pipe body.

2, low temperature impact resistance is good: low temperature embrittlement temperature of polyethylene is very low, and can be used safely within the temperature range of -60-60℃.  In winter construction, the pipe will not crack due to the good impact resistance of the material.

3, good stress cracking resistance: HDPE has low notch sensitivity, high shear strength and excellent scratch resistance, environmental stress cracking resistance is also very outstanding.

4, good chemical corrosion resistance: HDPE pipeline can withstand the corrosion of a variety of chemical media, the presence of chemicals in the soil will not cause any degradation of the pipeline.  Polyethylene is an electrical insulator, so it will not rot, rust or electrochemical corrosion;  It also does not promote the growth of algae, bacteria or fungi.

5, aging resistance, long service life: polyethylene pipe containing 2-2.5% uniform distribution of carbon black can be stored outdoors or used for 50 years, will not be damaged by ultraviolet radiation.

6, wear resistance: THE wear resistance of HDPE pipe and steel pipe comparison test shows that the wear resistance of HDPE pipe is 4 times that of steel pipe.  In mud transportation, HDPE pipes offer better wear resistance compared to steel pipes, which means longer service life and better economy.

7. Good flexibility: THE flexibility of HDPE pipe makes it easy to bend, and obstacles can be bypassed by changing the direction of the pipe in engineering. In many cases, the flexibility of the pipe can reduce the amount of pipe fittings and reduce installation costs.

8. Low flow resistance: HDPE pipes have a smooth inner surface and a Manning coefficient of 0.009.  The smooth performance and non-adhesive characteristics of HDPE pipes ensure higher delivery capacity than conventional tubing, while reducing pressure loss and water consumption.

9, easy to handle: HDPE pipe is lighter than concrete pipe, galvanized pipe and steel pipe, it is easy to handle and install, lower labor and equipment needs, means that the installation cost of the project is greatly reduced.

10, a variety of new construction methods:  HDPE pipe has a variety of construction technology, in addition to the traditional excavation method may be used for construction, can also use a variety of new trenchless technologies such as pipe jacking, directional drilling, liner, in the form of pipe and construction, for some do not allow the excavation sites, is the only option, so the HDPE pipe wider application fields.
